    Ambassador visited Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CCAMH) at the Chey Chumneas Hospital on 21 January. The CCAMH is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. India has been associated with this hospital since 1980's and has provided not only – and equipment but also deputed Indian doctors to assist the Cambodian friends and to help build the capacity.

    Mr. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Ministry of Commerce led the Cambodian delegation at the 3rd India-CLMV Business Conclave organized by Ministry of Commerce, Government of India and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) at Mammalapuram, India from 12-13 January 2016. The theme of this Conclave was "India – CLMV Economic Integration: Developing Regional Value Chains". A 12 member business delegation accompanied Senior Minister Sun Chanthol.

    Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry (IC), Government of India noted in her keynote address that “trade links and ties between India and the CLMV countries can be much better, and the two governing principles, connectivity and economic integration with regional value chains are crucial.” She added that “India’s trade with the CLMV countries is over 11,000 million USD and there is immense potential.” The tri-lateral highway, connectivity in the North East, port connectivity improvement and the Act East policy are moves in that direction.

    Mr. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Commerce, Kingdom of Cambodia said, "It's important to network and share best-practices and strengthen businesses ties between the countries. The trade investment between India and the ASEAN countries is crucial since the CLMV countries cover 32% of the ASEAN region and has a huge market for Indian products and with a 165 million strong population. This will attract considerable amount of FDI from India. He briefed potential Indian investors about the  investment regime in Cambodia noting that investment law provides very generous investment incentives such as low corporate income tax of 20%, up to nine years tax holiday, no restriction on foreign ownership in every economic sector, no exchange control, and no nationalization and price control.

    ‘Colours of India’ Cultural Performance in Phnom Penh

    The Embassy of India organized a cultural performance "Colours of India" that included folk and classical dances from several States of India providing a glimpse of the rich cultural diversity of India to the Cambodian audiences. The dance troupe led by Dr. Rekha Mehra mesmerized the audience with their thrilling performances.

     

    Hon'ble Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, Royal Government of India, H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona was the Chief Guest of the function. The dance troupe will also be performing at the 4th SEA Festival being held in Kampot on December 12, 2015.

The dance troupe led by Dr. Rekha Mehra mesmerized the audience with their thrilling performances.

     

    Hon'ble Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, Royal Government of India,  H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona was the Chief Guest of the function. The dance troupe will also be performing at the 4th SEA Festival being held in Kampot on  December 12, 2015.

    The Embassy organized a business event in collaboration with Ministry of Commerce, Government of Cambodia and the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce to promote bilateral trade and investment. The event was organized on the occasion of visit of a FICCI delegation.

     

    H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia was the Chief Guest at the event. The event saw an enthusiastic participation of more than 100 Cambodian business from different sectors.

    H. E. Mr. Sun Chanthol in his presentation urged Indian business to consider investing and noted that Cambodia offered several opportunities for investments in sectors including tourism, agriculture processing,textile, infrastructure services sector such as education and vocational training and medical services, IT and light and medium manufacturing industries.

    Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) SAMRAT paid a goodwill visit to Cambodia (Sihanoukville Port) from 7-10 November, 2015. On this occasion, a reception was hosted by Ambassador of India and Captain of the Ship, DIG SK BharatriyaA number of Cambodian leaders including Admiral Tea Vinh, Chief of Cambodian Navy attended the reception. During the visit, officers of the Indian Coast Guard Ship also conducted training for their counterparts from the Royal Cambodian Navy.  An exercise with the Royal Cambodian Naval ships was also conducted.
